Are your bags really hand-painted?

Yes—every single one. Each bag is painted by hand, not printed or mass-produced. That means no two are exactly alike, which is kind of the point.

 

Will I receive the exact bag shown in the photo?

In many cases—yes. We do our best to photograph each finished bag and list that exact piece for sale.

Because of that, what you see is often exactly what you’ll receive.

Occasionally, a bag may sell and another order comes in before we’ve had a chance to replace the image. In that case, your bag will be newly painted just for you—very similar in style, but not identical.

 

Why do some bags look slightly different from others?

Because they’re painted by hand, not printed. Even when we recreate a design, there will always be small differences. Every piece is original.

 

What materials are your bags made from?

We use durable cotton canvas bags that are built for real life—and we source them with a focus on fair trade and responsible production whenever possible. Then we add the art.

 

Are your bags durable enough for everyday use?

Absolutely. These are meant to be carried, used, and enjoyed. The canvas is strong, and the painted finish is designed to flex with the fabric and hold up through everyday wear.

 

How should I care for my hand-painted bag?

These bags can be gently hand washed and hung to dry.

Each one is created using a process designed for flexibility and durability, so normal cleaning won’t damage the artwork. We still recommend being gentle and avoiding harsh scrubbing.

 

What makes the design stay on the bag?

Each bag is painted using acrylic paint blended with fabric gesso, which allows the design to stay flexible and move with the fabric instead of becoming stiff or brittle.

After painting, the bag is heat-cured to help the paint fully adhere to the canvas. Then we apply a flexible gloss fabric sealant over the design to help protect it from fading and staining.

 

Will the paint crack or fade over time?

Our painting process is specifically designed to prevent cracking and reduce fading. The fabric gesso mixed into the acrylic paint makes the painted surface more flexible, so it moves with the bag and rarely cracks.

With normal use and proper care, your bag will hold up beautifully.

 

Do you offer custom designs?

Yes! We offer custom hand-painted bags for individuals, gifts, and businesses. Whether it’s initials, a personal idea, or something more detailed—we can create something just for you.

 

How does the custom process work?

Simply use the “Contact Us” button and shoot me an email requesting a custom bag. Specify which type of bag you want and provide an image or a very clear description of what you’re looking for.

I’ll email you back with an estimate—and possibly a few follow-up questions to make sure we get it just right.

 

Can you create bags for businesses or events?

Yes—and they’re a favorite. We usually start by incorporating your logo exactly as it was created, unless you’d prefer a hand-drawn version. From there, we build a design around it that fits your brand or event.

We can also reproduce the final design in high-quality full color on the bag style of your choice—perfect for events, branding, or gifts people actually keep.

 

How long does it take to receive my order?

In-stock items usually ship within a few business days. We prefer FedEx shipping, and you’re welcome to request expedited delivery.

If you’re working with a specific timeline, feel free to email us—we’re happy to let you know what’s possible and help you meet your deadline if we can.

 

Do you accept returns or exchanges?

Because each piece is handmade and often one-of-a-kind, all sales are generally final. If there’s an issue with your order, please reach out—we want you to love what you receive.

For items where the exact bag shown was not available, we often email a photo of the newly painted bag for approval before shipping. Once that is approved, if a return is requested, return shipping costs are the responsibility of the buyer.

 

Why choose a hand-painted bag instead of a printed one?

Because this isn’t just a bag—it’s a piece of art you get to carry. It’s personal, original, and made by a real person—not a machine.

 

Why do your bags cost more than a printed bag?

Each bag starts as a high-quality canvas bag that would typically retail anywhere from $15 to $100 on its own.

From there, we spend 2 to 5 hours hand-painting each piece—every detail done by hand, not printed or mass-produced.

So you’re not just buying a bag—you’re buying original artwork on a functional piece you can actually use.

Nowdo you think they’re overpriced?

That said, if you love the artwork but want a more accessible option, we also offer reprinted designs. These are high-quality reproductions of original paintings, printed onto the bag, then signed and numbered by the artist—so you still get the art, just in a different format.

 

Do you make everything that is on your website?

No—we also sell handmade, fair trade goods that we curate for their unique, high-quality nature… or sometimes just because we love them or think they’re funny (looking at you, napkins).

 

Do you offer gift options or notes?

If you’re sending a bag as a gift, we’re happy to include a note. Just include your message at checkout or email us after placing your order.

 

What size are the bags?

Each product listing includes specific dimensions and details. If you’re unsure which size is right for you, feel free to reach out—we’re happy to help you choose.

 

Are your bags heavy because of the paint?

Not at all. The painting process is designed to keep the bag flexible and lightweight, so it still feels like a comfortable, everyday canvas bag.

 

Can I request a specific color palette or theme?

Yes—especially for custom orders. If you have colors, themes, or inspiration images in mind, include those when you reach out and we’ll incorporate them into your design.

 

Do you restock designs?

Sometimes—but not always. Because each bag is hand-painted, many designs are one-of-a-kind. If you see something you love, it’s best to grab it.

We also use fair trade bags, and many of them are imported. When they run out—they run out. We may or may not be able to get more for the following season, but not for the current one.

That said, you can always reach out to see what other bag styles are available—we may be able to paint the design you love on a different bag.

 

How do I clean or care for my bag?

These bags are made to be used—and yes, you can clean them.

We recommend gently hand washing in cold water and hanging to dry. The cotton canvas can shrink in warm water, so stick with cold and no dryer.

Our painting process is designed for durability, but heat can soften the acrylic paint—so air drying is best.

Treat it with a little care, and it will hold up beautifully.
